FNC 22 – Ljubljana Once Again Proves It Lives for Combat Sports
This April, Arena Stožice once again played host to a top-tier combat sports spectacle – Fight Nation Championship 22. Building on the success of its first visit to the Slovenian capital, the event surpassed expectations and recorded the second-highest ticket revenue in FNC history.
The event reaffirmed Ljubljana’s strong potential as a destination for major fight nights, while also showcasing that Slovenian fighters stand among the elite of the regional MMA scene.
The event was brought to life by a joint organizational effort between FNC and the local team from agency B4, who managed every aspect of execution – from logistics, accommodation, and localized communications and marketing, to security, fan engagement, and VIP hospitality.
Fans were treated to 10 thrilling bouts, with Slovenian fighters shining particularly bright. The loudest ovation of the night was reserved for local hero Miran “Slo Rocky” Fabjan, who celebrated his 40th birthday in style with a devastating first-round knockout of Michal “MMasakra” Kita.
While the card featured fighters from across the globe, it was the strong presence of Slovenian and regional talent, paired with the unwavering support of the local crowd, that made FNC 22 truly special. Beyond the action in the cage, the event also offered a rich fan experience — from photo opportunities and fighter meet-and-greets to an official merchandise zone and interactive activations for all ages.
As local organizers, we are proud to have played a role in delivering an event that will go down as one of the highlights of this year’s fight calendar. Slovenia has the fighters, the fans, and the energy — and we look forward to future collaborations with the leading MMA promotion in Southeast Europe, and one of the most exciting brands on the continent.
